What could be better than a cold glass of milk with your cookies? Chocolate milk, of course! This easy recipes whips up the perfect chocolate syrup for chocolate milk. It melts perfectly into a glass of milk and can be used with so much more!
How to Make Chocolate Syrup
Making chocolate syrup is easier than you think. All you need to do is bring all the ingredients to a boil and then remove it from the heat to let it cool. The hardest part is waiting for it to be cold enough that it won’t change the temperature of the milk. We recommend putting it in a mason jar, sealing it with a regular lid and band and letting it sit in the refrigerator over night. That way you can easily pour with an Ergo Spout® when its ready.
What To Serve With Chocolate Syrup
Chocolate milk isn’t the only thing that this syrup is good for. You can use it over any sweet dessert such as ice cream, pie or cheese cake. You could also use it to make pancakes or crepes a little fancier. On a cold winter day, warm up your milk for the perfect hot chocolate. You could even try it in your coffee!
How to Thicken Chocolate Syrup
This syrup is a bit thinner than a store bought chocolate syrup like Hershey’s but that just means you don’t need much mixing to combine it in milk. If you want a thicker syrup a little cornstarch will do the trick. If you are looking for a chocolate syrup that will harden on ice cream then check out our magic shell in a mason jar.
Choose Your Sugar
One of the nice parts about making your own chocolate syrup is that you are eating less high fructose corn syrup. You can select the kind of sugar in this recipe that fits your dietary needs. You can even use a sugar substitute so long as it dissolves in liquid! Sugar free chocolate syrup!
